This policy describes the information Vextor Times handles when you read a guide or write to the desk. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
01. What we collect
We collect two kinds of information. The first is what you send us: an email to a Vextor Times address, including your address, message and any details you choose to include. The second is technical information that any web server records when a page is requested, such as the page address, the time of the request and the browser type.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not require personal information to read a guide.
02. How we use it
Email is used to answer you, to correct a guide, or to follow up on a story tip. Technical logs are used to keep the site running, diagnose errors and understand which pages are being read. We do not sell either category of information.
04. Third parties
Guides link to outside sources, including government agencies, rail operators and public lands sites. Once you follow a link, the privacy policy of that site applies. Fonts are requested from a font delivery service, which receives the technical request needed to serve the files.
05. Retention
Correction and editorial correspondence is kept while the related guide is active and for a reasonable period afterward so that a correction can be traced. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security.
06. Your choices
You can ask what correspondence we hold about you, request a correction to it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the privacy address below. We may need to keep a record where a correction must remain documented, and we will explain if that applies.
07. Children
Vextor Times is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
08. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the effective date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described in plain language, not hidden in a new paragraph.
Current status
Vextor Times does not currently run third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If that changes, this policy and the site will be updated before any script is enabled.
